Relocating Site for Buses Refueling Station in Warrick County

By: Import User
Updated: March 13, 2007
It looks like the people who live across the fence from a proposed diesel fueling station in Warrick County have won a battle to stop it. The Warrick County School Corporation wanted to fuel buses behind the former First Christian Church on Highway 261 North... next to Castle Elementary School. The district bought the property when the church moved. At Monday night`s school board meeting, neighbors complained that diesel fumes, possible fuel runoff and all the additional activity would affect the quality of life in the area. The Board agreed. Work had already started on the site so they`ll have to consider relocation costs. However, the Board gave preliminary approval Monday night to finding another location.
