Eight people attended a forum Monday night in Bowling Green, and only two people spoke out. The Public Service Commission says the new 3-6-4 area code is needed by early 2014.
It could be applied as an overlay, meaning it would be used for new numbers in western Kentucky, or it could be used to split the current 2-7-0 area in half.
