An Evansville landmark is demolished. Crews are tearing down Gloria's Corral Club on Kratzville Rd. and Allens Lane. The bar, which had several different names over the years, closed a few months ago. The property is now for sale. Today, neighbors and former patrons watched the building come down.
"I'm kind of glad it's gone," said Evansville resident Joyce Egan, "because it was getting so old. I'm 75. It's been here longer than me, and I can remember when I was a small child, it was Swing Time Inn restaurant. And it went from that to the Last Chance and then went to Gloria's."
The owners say earlier this month, they auctioned off everything inside the bar and feel the property will sell faster if it's an empty lot.
