Madisonville Gearing Up For Clinton Visit

Madisonville democrats will get a chance to ask Senator Clinton some tough questions when the presidential candidate makes her second tri-state campaign stop in just over a week. Clinton is creating quite a buzz in western Kentucky, and Hopkins county officials are bracing for "as yet unannounced" stop there Saturday. In Madisonville this yellow ticket, is a "golden ticket". A chance to get up close with presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Shes expected to make a stop at a local democratic fund raiser Saturday. Mayor Will Cox says his office, and several others in town are scrambling to get ready for the high profile stop over. The first wave of the Clinton enterage, the secret service. "Theyre supposed to be here tomorrow. Weve been on the phone with them all afternoon. Kinda sobers you up." Clintons stop in Madisonville, unlike her visit to Evansville last week, is not organized by her campaign. Shell be a guest at the Ruby Lafoon Dinner, a fund raiser for local democrats. Members of the Madisonville party say that means shell be addressing undecided voters, and they fully expect her to earn their support. Still, the visit is creating so much excitement, the Ruby Lafoon Dinner sold out its 600 tickets. And Thursday, 3000 general admission tickets will go on sale at party headquarters for spectator seats. Madisonville is basking in this national party attention, but with the excitement comes some nervousness, as their modest democrat gathering becomes the center of the national party race. "Well see how it goes Saturday, but so far its been a good ride."
