A Tri-State committee pays tribute to the local service men and women who have fought for our country. Madisonville city officials dedicated its Veterans Memorial today at Day Lily Park. To honor all local veterans, the new park includes a Patriot's Path that lists all the men and women who have served. Officials say the memorial is another great way to thank veterans for fighting for the rights and freedom of all Americans.

"We try to honor veterans on a daily basis," said Project Chairman Bill Simmons, "but this is a place where other people can recognize our appreciation and their appreciation to the veterans who have served all of the services."

Simmons says the memorial will cost roughly $250,000 when completed.
