Crews Knock Down Roberts Stadium Sign

The Roberts Stadium landscape is changing. The old Roberts Stadium sign that faced the Lloyd Expressway came crashing down around 2:30 p.m. The sign was sold during the stadium auction in August. The new owner was responsible for removing it. He says he is going to sell the sign for scrap.
Last week the parks board awarded a contract for demolition of the stadium. Those crews are moving in, but a date has not been set when the wrecking ball will swing on the stadium itself.
