An Evansville firefighter has a new title under his belt. Richard Howard became the first person from the Evansville Fire Department to graduate from the South Western Indiana Law Enforcement Agency. The 20-year-old veteran is now a certified fire detective in arson investigations. He says he is honored by his new ranking and cherishes his time at the academy.
"Just the comradery of the group itself," said Howard. "I've shopped for a long time. I've been through college classes, so that's the same. Driving fast was fun, but there's a lot of responsibility that comes with that. So, just being with the group and being apart of something really meant the most to me."
