The Haynie's Corner Arts District in Evansville was thriving Saturday, and it was all for a good cause.  University of Southern Indiana students and some area high schools created hundreds of ceramic bowls for the charity event, Empty Bowls.  It was a packed house at Adams Art Gallery.  People purchased a hand-made ceramic bowl for $10, and enjoyed some soup from Twilight Bistro.  Organizers say they sold more than 700 bowls, which will benefit the Tri-State Food Bank, and United Caring Shelters of Evansville.  This was the first year for the event, and organizers plan to do it again next year.  Empty Bowls is a national non-profit organization that lends it's name to any organization willing to raise money to combat hunger.
