Talk about 'growing awareness' for a good cause. If you didn't know already, this month is officially "No-Shave November". At least it is on the campus of Deaconess Hospital.
It's part of a campaign to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancers. Right now, we're told about 75 Deaconess employees are banding together to put down the razors. Some of them have a more personal connection to the cause.
"About a year ago," said Deaconess Employee John Bickel, "I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I'm coming up on my year anniversary cancer free. It's a good feeling, and I'll gladly help promote awareness of it."
Deaconess has also given employees buttons to wear, explaining why they have their new facial hair. Reps say so far the feedback on "No-Shave November" campaign has been pretty great.
