After months of renovations at Lloyd Pool, the aquatics center is much improved.

At 84 degrees, the crystal clear water at Lloyd Pool is an oasis for some. Parks Department Executive Director Denise Johnson is thrilled to see the waves of change.

"This year, it's undergone $200,000 in renovations," said Johnson. "The new pool liner is the most dramatic change I'd say. It may not sound like a lot of money in the grand scheme of things but it is for our department."

And Lloyd Pool needed it. The future of the 37 year old pool became a discussion point in last year's mayoral election. The rehab project included the new liner, new coats of paint and a new dividing wall. Further plans call for new bleachers and other improvements.

The pool is used by the city's swim teams almost on a daily basis.
