A Posey County couple plans to receive a new house and give back to the community at the same time. Habitat for Humanity teamed up with CountryMark to build a new house for Reverend Myers and Anna Hyman in Mt. Vernon. But the couple will be making monthly payments on the house to help pay for a future project.
"CountryMark has given us a good kickoff and along with Habitat," said Reverend Myers Hyman, "and we're excited about being able to have our own home."
"We have to pay for the house," said Anna Hyman, "and it's at reasonable payments of about $300 a month. And this money goes back to Habitat to help somebody else."The Hymans have made several contributions to the community. They run the At the Cross Mission in Mt. Vernon that provides food for hungry people.
