Kentucky State Police arrest a Daviess County woman for child pornography and investigators say she worked with children. Sarah Alice Cox, 25, of Owensboro, is charged with more than a thousand counts of possessing child pornography.

KSP's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force found evidence to support 1,064 counts of child porn while executing a search warrant at Cox's home Tuesday. She was arrested Wednesday morning.

Police say Cox worked for day cares and child learning services in the Owensboro area. She also worked as a nanny and child care provider.

"Just knowing that someone like that lives right across the street from me is extremely disturbing," says Melissa Smith, Cox's neighbor. "The evaluations that people have to go through to work in child care are not intense enough."

"Whether she has a thousand or one it's one too many. But for her to be working around children this whole time that's really bad ... like putting a fox in a hen house," says Owensboro resident Carl Henderson.

Investigators are still trying to determine if Cox produced and shared pornographic pictures and videos using local children. Troopers are asking parents who have used her services to contact KSP Detective Jason Pagan at (270) 685-3927. Investigators will be asking concerned parents to send a head shot of their child, name, date of birth and a picture of any identifiable markings such as birth marks or scars.

KSP is not releasing the locations where Cox worked.
