The sudden and tragic death of a former Henderson man, has his friends and family remembering a life taken too soon. Dion Longworth and his wife, Jennifer, were killed when a nearby house exploded in Indianapolis last weekend.

Dion was a 1996 Henderson County High School graduate. He ran track and cross country for the Colonials, and was elected Vice President of his class senior year. Thursday family and friends met to share pictures and warm memories of Dion at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Henderson. Family members tell Eyewitness News Dion was kind hearted, had a burning curiosity for the world around him and loved gardening.

Investigators still do not know what caused the explosion. "We did everything together, we were practically each others best friends. I can't hardly think of a memory that doesn't involve him," says Brookley Longworth, Dion's sister. "Until we know exactly what happened it's probably going to be very unsettling."

Investigators say it could be weeks before they determine what caused the explosion. Crews searched the neighborhood for a gas leak, but haven't found any at this time.
