Missing Student's Parents Pushing For Better Campus Security

The parents of an Indiana University student, missing for more than a year, hope suggestions for improved campus safety become reality.
The parents of Lauren Spierer attend freshman honors classes Thursday, discussing ideas for the Lauren project, which is aimed at increasing awareness of potential dangers for students. Their suggestions include a revamped night shuttle service, and a campaign encouraging all students to have a friend with them whenever they are out at night.
20-year-old Spierer was last seen in June of 2011 following a night of partying with friends in downtown Bloomington.
