Indiana Summary --- Man Tased By Police Dies (Indianapolis) -- A man police describe as unruly was tased over the weekend by an officer. Henry Bryant died. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police say the 35-year-old Bryant was tased after a disturbance at a restaurant. The incident happened at OCharleys restaurant on the west side. Police say that officers were called to the restaurant after hearing a man was displaying a firearm and may have been threatening people inside and outside of the business. Officers were talking to the subject when Bryant became physically involved with them. Thats when Bryant was tased. An autopsy is being done on Bryant to learn more about his death. --- Twenty-Seven-Year-Old Man Dies From Eastside Shooting (Indianapolis) -- A 27-year-old man died on the Indianapolis eastside over the weekend after being shot. Police detectives say that Roy Bush was shot multiple times at a home in the 800 block of North Gray Street. Police say he was at a party when the disturbance happened. He died later at Wishard Hospital. No arrest has been made. --- New Congressman Carson Backs Childrens Health First Act (Indianapolis) -- Newly elected Congressman Andre Carson is backing the Childrens Health First Act. Carson says he plans to officially co-sponosor the bill once he returns to Washington this week. Nearly ninety-million children in the U. S. now lack health coverage according to Carson. On Sunday, he announced his plan to back the bill that is established toward expanding health coverage for children. --- Here Are Sundays Winning Numbers From The Hoosier Lottery Daily Four-Evening: 0-1-1-3 Lucky 5-Evening: 17-21-25-28-30 Kentucky Summary (Louisville, KY) -- The University of Louisville Cardinals were defeated over the weekend in mens college basketball action, 83-73 by North Carolina. The Cards lost to the number one seeded Tar Heels in the NCAA Tournaments East Regional final. U of L shot 52-point-seven-percent from the field, but North Carolina connected on 53-point-four-percent, the best by a Cards opponent this season. (Louisville, KY) -- Senator Hillary Clinton visited the Kentuckiana area on Saturday. Clinton made her first stop at a round table event at South Side Inn Restaurant in New Albany, Indiana. Former Indiana First Lady Judy OBanion introduced Clinton, saying, quote, "I feel like Im bringing a real good friend home." Clinton told Hoosiers her administration would focus on jobs, the economy, and ending the war. The Democratic presidential hopeful then traveled across the bridge to Louisville and spoke at DuPont Manual High School where she again told supporters about her plans on the economy, healthcare, and the war. She later told reporters the race is too close to quit, and she wants to make sure everybodys vote counts. The Indiana and Kentucky primary are both in May. 1/81/8 note nature 3/83/8 (Louisville, KY) -- Louisville Metro Police arrested a well-known Okolona Little League volunteer on Friday. Police say Ronald Underwood thought he was chatting online with a 13-year-old boy, when it was actually an undercover detective. Police say the online conversation began innocent until Underwood began asking for nude pictures of the boy. Police searched Underwoods work and home computer and found hundreds of images of young nude boys. Police say theyre now searching through the images and trying to identify the victims. Officials say if you had a son involved in the program youre asked to call 574-LMPD. (Shelbyville, KY) -- The Claudia Sanders Dinner House reopened for business over the weekend. The restaurant had been shut down after more than 130 people became ill who ate an Easter Sunday buffet. State Health officials say a staph bacteria possibly sickened more than 137 people who at there last Sunday. The famed restaurant was once owned by Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Colonel Harland Sanders and his wife Claudia. (Louisville, KY) -- A new partnership formed by the Fight Against Children Initiatives plans to help families whose children are murdered by paying for their funerals. Officials say family members of Greg and Nikki Coontz, who were killed last week, will be the first to be offered the service. Funeral homes often offer free or discounted services to families in need, but the memorial service option will help every family that loses a child to homicide. The new service will be called the Fight Crimes Against Children Memorial Service Option, and was announced on Friday. (Bullitt County, KY) -- A bill that would have allowed Bullitt County to have its own hospital has been withdrawn. The bill was withdrawn because the Kentucky Hospital Association and state officials agreed to hold talks about possible changes in the state healthcare rules. The move could make a Bullitt hospital possible. The state health plan makes Bullitt County ineligible for hospital beds because there are too many unused ones in Jefferson County, although the move leaves Bullitt County without its own hospital. (Louisville, KY) -- Brightside held its largest one-day cleanup over the weekend. More than 55-hundred volunteers helped to clean up litter and debris as part of the event. Mayor Jerry Abramson thanked volunteers at Lassiter Middle School on Saturday. The cleanup is part of Metro Louisvilles Go Green Louisville Initiative and Brightsides ongoing "Take It To The Basket" campaign that targets litter reduction throughout the community. (Frankfort, KY) -- The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced a lane closure on northbound I-65 in Bullitt County. The right lane will be closed from 7 to 10 a.m. while crews conduct surveying. Officials say KY-218 in Horse Cave will be closed today. Traffic will be detoured using KY-1846, Short Cut Road. The roadway will be closed to through traffic between U.S.-31W and Vial Street from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. today. Officials say roadwork is subject to change due to weather. Illinois Summary Forecasters: Illinois Could Get Severe Storms, More Rain Monday Night Illinois could get its first dose of spring storms, and another dose of heavy rains before the end of the day. The National Weather Service says the state is in the bulls eye for thunderstorms and heavy rains, at times the weather could become severe. Forecasters are once again warning anyone who lives near one of the many rivers or streams that have flooded to be careful. The Weather Service says some of the strongest storms will hit through the Illinois River valley, and move east toward the Indiana border. The first of the storms arent expected till this evening, but they are expected to last through the overnight hours. --- Family Of Missing Soldier Confirms His Death (Batavia, OH) -- The family of an Ohio soldier serving with an Illinois unit in Iraq has confirmed the news no one wanted to hear. Keith "Matt" Maupins parents say the Pentagon has identified his remains found in Iraq. Matt Maupin was serving with the 724th Transportation Company from Bartonville Illinois when he was taken captive in Iraq. Family and military officials last saw him on Al Jezera TV with some of his captor. The Maupins say DNA tests confirm the remains are that of their son. A number of Mapuins squad mates in Illinois and Ohio had kept vigils since his disappearance. --- Police Still Looking For Robber Who Targeted State Lawmaker (East St. Louis) -- A seven-dollar robbery is getting a lot of attention. The Illinois State Police say they are investigating the robbery of one of Illinois oldest lawmakers. Seventy-seven-year-old Wyvetter Young from the Metro East told police a young man came to her door, and robbed her. She says he only got seven-dollars, but she says shes lucky he didnt hurt her. Young has served in the Illinois House since 1975, and is a fixture on the Democratic ticket in the Metro East. Police have a description of the suspect, a young man with a red hat and a red jacket. Investigators say they hope to fin him. Young says shell pray for him. --- State, Builders Come To Terms On Lincoln Museum Costs (Springfield) -- The state wont be getting back nearly as much money as they hoped from builders of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, but they wont be paying out either. Illinois has been battling for years with planners and builders of the 145-million-dollar complex in Springfield. Costs on the museum, library and parking deck set the court fight into motion before the buildings were even completed. Under a deal reported by the "Chicago Tribune" everyone involved shares the blame for the delays and overruns. The state will collect three-million-dollars from builders and planners, and will void paying out another seven-million to those same people. --- Candys Not So Sweet After Man Nabbed By Police (Joliet) -- A mans sweet tooth led to trouble in Joliet Friday night. Police there say Daniel Studer was caught stuffing his pockets with candy bars inside of the Marathon Gas Station in the 500 block of Cass Street. An employee stopped the 45-year-old and was able to lock him inside of the store. When police arrived, they say they found just over 14-dollars worth of candy and beef jerky in Studers pockets.
