Leaders of a local Evansville company say they are changing their business practices for the better and getting paid for it. AmeriQual, a food processing and packaging company, received a check today in exchange for making energy-related improvements to its facility. The company made the advancements through the Energizing Indiana's rebates program.
"We're very excited about the new lighting project," said AmeriQual President and CFO Tim Brauer, "that we have Energizing Indiana fortunately helped us with that project reimbersed us about 40% or a little over 40% of the total capital cost, and we've already had our first month under the new lighting system. We got our energy bill from Vectern, and the savings were substainal."
They say last month's power bill was $3,500 less than that month in the previous year.
