A former employee of the Boy Scouts Buffalo Trace Council based in Evansville is facing charges for allegedly having sexually explicit material depicting children on his home computer. U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett held a press conference Tuesday in Evansville announcing the latest on the investigation. Hogsett says 33-year-old Ryan C. Bieler of Ireland, Indiana admitted to investigators he downloaded and purchased several DVD movies depicting child pornography. Investigators say Bieler also admitted he had a sexual interest in minor children. Authorities say they found written material in Bieler's home describing his physical attraction to particular boys he had access to and interaction with through his positions with the Boy Scouts of America. Hogsett said the Boy Scouts of America is fully cooperating with federal law enforcement in their investigation. Bieler was most recently employed as a Senior District Executive of the Boy Scouts Buffalo Trace Council, which is based in Evansville and serves five counties: Warrick, Spencer, Perry, Pike, and Dubois. This is a developing story, check back with Eyewitness News for updates.
