Firefighters Battle Cullen Avenue Fire Wednesday Morning

Evansville fire crews battle a house fire Wednesday morning.
The home is in the 7-hundred block South Cullen Avenue. According to firefighters, the fire started in the basement, and there was heavy smoke when they arrived.
A Seargant that works with the Junior ROTC at Harrison High School stopped to help after seeing the smoke. He says he tried to get inside to help get anyone out, but it turns out there was no one home at the time.
Firefighters quickly got the fire under control, and investigators continue to look for a cause.
