Volunteers are also hoping the weekend warm weather will benefit them during an annual toy drive. The Townsquare Media Radio Stations (WKDQ, WJLT, WDKS, WGBF, WGBF-AM) are teaming up with Henderson Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and the 911 Gives Hope charity for the fourth annual 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays Radiothon. The event strives to fill a 53 foot trailer with toys, clothing, and gift certificates. The collected goods are then delivered to all the local hospitals just in time for Christmas.

"To know that some of these kids are spending Christmas in the hospital," said Paramedic and Advisory Board Member Robert Smith, "and some of those kids their families it's all they do to pay for their medical bills and maybe that cuts into their toy budget. The look on a child's face at christmas time receiving a new toy especially when their in a hospital receiving a new toy is priceless. It's just priceless. It's worth the time and the effort. You just can't beat it."

The radiothon began this morning and will run through Sunday until 6 p.m. It will be broadcasted live from the Wal-Mart on Evansville's east side with additional broadcasts from Henderson Chevrolet.
