Accident Shuts Down Lloyd Expressway For Six Hours

A traffic crash shuts down the Lloyd Expressway for six hours. The accident happened around one o'clock Friday afternoon at the I-164 overpass on Evansville's far east side. The road opened shortly after 7 p.m.

The four-vehicle accident left one person seriously injured. Evansville police say the trouble started when a person driving with a flat tire lost control. Investigators say that driver crossed over the median and into ongoing traffic where it hit three other drivers. The person who sustained serious injuries was struck on the driver's side of his or her vehicle. Eyewitness News is told all four drivers involved in the crash are expected to recover.
