Evansville Police Collecting Toys for Hospitalized Kids

Many Tri-State organizations are in a giving mood urging community members to donate to the less fourtunate. For the Evansville Police Department, it's hoping to provide toys for sick children who will likely spend their holidays in the hospital.
The 4th Annual 911 Gives Hope Toy Drive is underway at Evansville's Burkhardt Rd. Wal-Mart. The goal is to fill a huge trailer full of toys that will be donated to children in hospitals in Evansville and Henderson. Many children stopped by today to drop off their contributions. For one child, she's showing the true meaning of selflessness.
"That's our favorite thing," said EPD Chief Billy Bolin, "is when you see the parent come up with their little kid, and they've got a toy that they've picked out. And they know it's for a kid."
"I think it's important to give to other people," said Laine Kennedy who donated toys, "and that's kind of the true meaning of Christmas."
"Other kids should come and donate too," said Aiden King who also donated toys.
EPD's toy drive wraps up tomorrow at 6 p.m.
