Daviess County Man Accused of Animal Curelty

By: Michael C. Fehn
Updated: December 4, 2012
Deputies in Daviess County, Kentucky say a dog managed to escape after it was tied to the back of a truck and dragged down a road.

A neighbor on Bartley Road called the Sheriff's Department Monday to report Gerald Bartley was torturing a dog.

Bartley reportedly told deputies he thought the dog killed his stray cat so he tried tying the dog to a tree for animal control.  But he says the dog became aggressive, so he tied it to his truck to lead it away from his property.

Bartley is facing a misdemeanor charge of torturing an animal.

Comments

The dog was not "dragged", the cat was not a "stray". Seems the media wants to be judge and jury on this one.
