The former second in command of the Kentucky Justice Cabinet faces ethics violation charges. Charles Geveden was the Deputy Justice Secretary under Governor Steve Beshear. He's accused of using his position to solicit campaign contributions for Beshear's re-election last year. A State Ethics Commission Executive says nothing has been found to suggest the Governor knew anything about what Geveden was allegedly doing. Geveden could face fines of up to $5,000 for each of three counts and a public reprimand in the case that could take months to resolve.
