A proposal by Congress to cut services from the Social Security Administration has workers all over the country worried, but maybe not too many here at home. Only two people showed up to protest the the proposed cuts at the office on Green River Rd. in Evansville today. But those who were there were very vocal. They say the economy's already been hard enough on people, and this would only make it worse.
"We can't hire anybody," said union representative Vicki Ours. "IOur office hours have been reduced. It's a snowball effect. Going over that cliff is only going to make an already difficult situation worse".
The protestors say the Social Security Administration doesn't account for the current deficit situation, so it shouldn't be punished for the country's huge amounts of debts.
