Rising gas prices are effecting everyones pocket books, and some are hurting more than others. Many trucking companies cant afford the fuel, and the price theyre forced to pay is closing their doors. Truck drivers say the cost of filling up their tanks has nearly doubled since last year. One company out of Washington, Indiana is no longer making profits, and manager Darrell Breeden says hes never seen anything like it. Congress met with gas company executives to discuss investing more money into renewable energy. Gas companies saw profits of about $123 billion in 2007, and received $18 billion in tax breaks. Congress expects them to make a bigger effort to help decrease the countrys dependence on foreign oil.
