Indiana Governor-elect Mike Pence says he's ready to serve the state, and he's starting by saying thank you.  Pence stopped at GOP headquarters in Evansville Friday morning.

Taking Indiana from good to great, that's Governor-elect Mike Pence's plan for the Hoosier state.

"We're gonna run a four quarters offense on creating jobs and opportunities for the people of Indiana," Mike Pence said.

Pence says getting people back to work is a top priority.

The November jobs report shows the national unemployment rate fell to 7.7%.  That's the lowest it's been since December 2008.  Last month, the nation added 146,000 jobs.  The future Governor of Indiana says with I-69 and other projects, we're on the right track.  Just this week, Ohio Valley Resources picked Spencer County to be the site of its new fertilizer plant.  It's a move that will create 80 full time jobs.

"We're in a position where I think Indiana is posed for an era of growth and opportunity like no other in our lifetime, but it's gonna take the right ideas and renewed energy to do that building on the foundation that's been laid and were excited to have the opportunity," Pence said.

Another part of Pence's plan, a proposed 10% state income tax cut.  But not everyone in the Republican party is on board.

"I think the most effective way to jump start the economy is to cut taxes across the board for every Hoosier because remember that will not only put a couple 100 dollars in the pockets of every Hoosier, but also more than 90% of our businesses across Indiana file their taxes under the individual tax rate, so the most effective way to cut taxes on job creators is to cut the personal income tax rate," Pence said.

Pence says he's determined to build an all Indiana team to achieve success.

Pence is inviting all Hoosiers to the All Indiana Inaugural Weekend on January 12th and 13th in Indianapolis.  His inauguration will be January 14th on the steps of the Statehouse.
