IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent was due to appear at a court hearing in Irving on Sunday morning, a day after he was charged with intoxication manslaughter in connection with an accident that killed teammate Jerry Brown.

Irving police said the accident happened about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, hours before Brent was to be on a team flight to Cincinnati. The Cowboys were to play the Bengals on Sunday afternoon.

On Fox's NFL Sunday show, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team had focused on Brown's death. He didn't mention Brent.

"They know the best thing they can do for (Brown) is to go out and play the way he would have liked to seen them play ..." Jones said.

Brent was a practice-squad linebacker for Dallas.
