Beard Cemetery near Bristow, Indiana may be small, but recently trustees learned three headstones had been vandalized. Jerry Beard has been the trustee of his family's cemetery for more than a decade. The tombstones, to him, are memories.
One of the vandalized gravesites belonged to an infant. Beard says another was almost leveled to the ground, leaving its identity a mystery.
One headstone dated back to 1905. Beard says he's unaware of any family members still living, so there is no one to replace the broken stone. Beard says he's doesn't know what he's going to do.
He says he doesn't know who did this, or why. But says he hopes to find out soon enough. This case is still under investigation. If you have any information you're asked to contact the Perry County Sheriff's Office.
