ST. MARY’S ESTABLISHES CAR SEAT FITTING STATION
(Evansville, Ind.) – St. Mary’s Medical Center has established a car seat fitting station with a grant from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. The fitting station is staffed with nationally-certified child passenger safety technicians who inspect the car seats and instruct families how to properly secure the car seats in their vehicle.
“Statistics show that at least four out of five car seats are used incorrectly. If an accident occurs, improper use of a child car seat can result in severe injury or death. St. Mary’s car seat fitting station is a resource for families to ensure they are using their car seats safely and correctly,” said Deb Baize, certified car seat technician for St. Mary’s.
Parents and caregivers may schedule an appointment to have their car seat installation checked by calling 812/485-6777. There is no charge of this service, but appointments should be made in advance.
