Homeless Numbers Remain Steady in 2012

The latest count finds the number of homeless people remained unchanged in 2011. That's due, in part, to a drop in the number of veterans with no place to live and an increase among families.
Officials say the sluggish economy has countered an effort to house the homeless. The percentage of homeless veterans, as well as those homeless for more than a year, each dropped by about 7 percent.
