Southern Illinois Couple Faces Bankruptcy Fraud Charges

An Illinois couple could get prison time for bankruptcy fraud. Thomas and Debra Grogan of Lawrenceville pled guilty to concealing assets during their bankruptcy case. They wanted to get more than $24,000 in debts discharged, but they didn't mention Thomas Grogan expected to receive $111,000 from a class action lawsuit against the drug, Vioxx. The couple could go to prison for up to five years and have to pay a $250,000 fine. They'll be sentenced in April.
