Weather Conditions And Gas Prices Are Not Stopping Holiday Travelers

We are officially in the holiday season, but for many this means a long road home. The windy weather conditions here in the Tri-State are not stopping them.
The goal for many is getting home this Christmas season. Some travelers in the Tri-State say they will be home for the holidays despite the weather.
"Yesterday it was pretty windy. Flights still took off and landed, but it was a little windy out here," says EVV Public Information Officer Dianna Page. "Knowing that wind equals turbulence, the wind is fair, as long as the wind isn't too much turbulence. I'm definitely all right," says traveler Shadeau Lee. Despite the weather, travelers are starting to make their way home for the holidays. "I'm actually going to Chicago. From Chicago I'll be going to Philadelphia's airport, and from there I'll be driving," says Lee.
Whether it's by plane, train, or automobile, these travelers agree the journey is worth their while. "I hope to get to see my family members once I touch down in Philadelphia. I'm just going to be filled with joy," says Lee. "That's just part of it. Family is important," says Evansville resident Mike Keller.
Gas prices continue to fluctuate this season, and are even higher than last year says Triple A. With the economy on the mend an expected eighty-four million will be on the road, but some say it's just the price you have to pay to see the ones you love. "Well they took a dip now they are going back up. You're going to have that. Family's priceless," says Keller.
Triple A says the average gas price for those traveling in Indiana this season is three dollars and twelve cents.
