You may have noticed a small star walking around Evansville today. Aubrey Anderson-Emmons of the hit tv show Modern Family is here in the Tri-State for the holidays. I got the chance to sit down at a local restaurant with the child star and her family today. At five years old Aubrey Anderson- Emmons plays the part of Lily on one of television's biggest shows Modern Family working along side stars like Ed O'Neill, but now this pint sized star and her family have headed home for the holidays which happens to be right here in the Tri-State.
ABC's Modern Family has quickly become one of the biggest shows on television. The show has nabbed Emmy's for outstanding comedy serious the last three years. One star is winning viewers hearts, and she's only five years old.
"People that do not know me they say are you Lily on Modern Family, and they want to take pictures." Aubrey Anderson-Emmons landed the part on the hit tv series with out any acting experience but she's proven to be a natural. "Aubrey's never been an actress, and as it turns out I knew some people who knew some people and it kind of worked out," says her father Kent. Aubrey and her father Kent Emmons are originally from the Tri-State and have returned home for the holidays. "For Christmas we go out here," says Aubrey. The two met me today at a favorite Evansville restaurant they've always loved. "It's different from here. It's not like being outside."
Though it may be colder in Indiana than in California, either way Aubrey and her Father are glad to be home for Christmas. "Yeah, it's just fun being back here because we are from here," says Emmons. Its a show the young star is happy to be a part of and her father too. "They tell me not to date. They are really funny," says Aubrey. "Those guys are so good. The writers, the producers, and the directors are all great. All the episodes, I love them. They are all so much fun." Aubrey says she will return as her character Lily next season on Modern Family.
