With winter weather on the way the roads aren't the only thing needing to be prepped.  Tri-Staters are using these last few hours before Christmas to prepare their pantries as well, in case they get stranded in their homes.
While most people we spoke with Christmas Eve say they're excited about the prospect of several inches of snow on the ground, they know they need to be ready. So shoppers hit the stores today to stock up on the staples, just in case.
It was a busy day at the Sureway grocery store in Henderson, KY.  All the Christmas essentials, hams , turkeys, and then some extra.
"Rock salt, sleds," Charles Graff, Sureway's Assistant Manager says. "We haven't had any snow in a while so people are stocking up."
Most believe the winter weather couldn't come at a better time than the holidays.
"It's about time!" says Pamela Scisney about the snow. "It gives you an excuse to stay in and spend time with your family and watch the kids play with their toys."
While the prospect of snow during the holidays is exciting for some, most wish, if the snow comes, it would get here a day early.
"Yeah I wish it would hurry up and get here," says Brad Goldsberry. "I'd rather have a white Christmas than an after Christmas white."
