In Carmi, plows were pushing snow off the streets and into giant piles.  White County Sheriff Doug Maier says most of the main roads in the county were cleared, but some secondary roads were still treacherous.

"Our secondary roads haven't improved a lot," he says.  "They're still pretty heavily snow packed, and some are just impossible to navigate."

Some travelers spent Thursday trying to get back on schedule.  The storm forced some like Marcia Walker to stay in town an extra day with her family.  She originally planned to drive back home on Wednesday, but couldn't.

"I wish the storm could've waited," she says.

While most travel restrictions have been lifted, authorities say drivers should still be careful, especially around abandoned cars that have yet to be removed from area roads.
