breaking news
With the New Year comes new life for some tri-state families, the River City is welcoming its first new baby of 2013. The seven pound five ounce baby-boy entered the world at 3:21 am. The mom, Stephanie Ferreira, was ringing in the New Year not knowing she'd be giving birth a few hours later. Her due date wasn't until January 9th, but baby Jamarion Anthony Madison had his own schedule to make a grand entrance at Saint Marys. Jamarion sits at seven pounds, five ounces, and he's baby number three for Stephanie Ferreira. "He's not a crybaby he's a good baby, he's peaceful and he didn't cry," she says. But his birth, not so much, Ferreira treated last night like normal, watching the ball drop on TV with friends. "I was at a New Year's Party and I was just sitting there and started having weird pains, because I never had contractions before. Contractions hit at 12:03 am and Jamarion was born at 3:21. Grandma Stephanie Doyle says she couldn't be happier with her new year grandson. "It feels very special because its something special to me, to us, to all the family we're very blessed, the more the merrier." Saint Mary's was also happy, bringing gifts for its first baby of 2013. They're precious, innocent and just beginning their lives. Babies touch the hearts of many, for Jamarion, there will be a great story to tell about his birth. Ferreira says rest is much needed and she'll be able to leave Saint Mary's Thursday.
