Those in southern Illinois are finally digging themselves out from more than 12 inches of snow last week. We stopped in Wabash County today where our winter storm can still be found. Roads are a lot clearer and businesses are back open. Sheriff Joe Keeling says although the weather is a hassle for law enforcement, he's glad the snow happened at a time where most people were at home spending time with their loved ones.
"We got really lucky that it happened at midnight," said Sheriff Keeling, "where there was no school, no factories running, really had no major accdents just slide-offs. "
Sheriff Keeling does warn drivers to remain cautious. There are still alot of slick sopts as temperatures hover around the freezing point.
