What's being done to prevent future outbreaks of salmonella at Chamberlain Farms? The FDA wants to know that answer. In a warning letter posted on the FDA website, officials ask that the President of Chamberlain Farms, addressed in the letter as Tim Chamberlain, respond to the request within 15 weeks. The feds want to know what steps the Gibson County farm is taking to correct the violations found this summer that were linked to a salmonella contamination. The FDA's initial report found cantaloupes there tested positive for salmonella. The cantaloupe outbreak killed two people and sickened more than 200 others in 22 states.
