The Evansville man who allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted a child last year in an alley is now facing federal child exploitation charges. 27-year-old Jack Perkins III is still awaiting trial for that incident. But a new indictment was filed against him today relating to what authorities say they found on his home computer.

Perkins was arrested a year ago after allegedly targeting two children in an alley near Elliot and Maxwell on Evansville's north side. One child got away. The other, police say, got into Perkins' car and was assaulted. After his arrest, authorities say they found disturbing pictures and videos on his computer, some showing children under the age of five being sexuallly abused.

"That's the kind of behavior and conduct that has no place in this community," sais U.S. Attorney Joseph Hogsett, "and we will do everything to stop."

Perkins faces up to 30 years on these latest federal charges alone.
