Family and friends remember the life of Sam Featherstone of Newburgh, who inspired many to join the fight against cancer. A prayer service was held tonight at the Memorial High School auditorium for Sam and his family.

Sam passed away Wednesday morning after battling brain cancer for several years. He started the Sam Strong: Search for the Cure Foundation, which raised over  $200,000 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

"Here's a man," said Father Alex Zenthoefer, "who had no use of his legs. He could barely use his arms. He had one good eye. And yet, he could raise over $200,000 for children for pediatric cancer. So, Sam is just a witness of using what we've been giving for the good of others."

Several friends and family members took to the podium to share their fondest memories of Sam's life.
