One Indiana lawmaker wants the Lord's Prayer in schools. Republican State Senator Dennis Kruse of Auburn wants public school students to start the day by reciting the Lord's Prayer. Kruse has filed legislation that would let school districts require the prayer to be recited. The measure is part of a broader push by Kruse and other lawmakers to put religion in the state's public schools.
It shouldnt be either way, students should have the right to pray if they wish without worrying that they are offending someone else as this country was founded on religious freedom, BUT they should not be required to pray...again, religious freedom. Nobody should have the right to tell you you must or must not pray to a god you may or may not believe in. It's a personal choice, not a matter of government.
