Two Arrested After Alleged Beating, Robbery in Evansville

UPDATE: Two people are now in custody following a Sunday night beating and robbery in Evansville.

Those arrested are 19-year-old Antonio Tolbert and 20-year-old Julien Hinton.

Officers say both Tolbert and Hinton were caught a short time after the alleged incident on Jefferson Avenue.  According to police, Tolbert denied being involved, but say he had the victim's wallet at the time of his arrest.  Hinton faces charges of possessing a firearm without a permit.  Police say it's not clear right now whether Hinton was involved in the robbery.

PREVIOUS: Evansville Police are searching for four men they say beat up an 19-year-old and took his money.

Officers say around 11:15 Sunday night, the 19-year old was walking through the 6-hundred block of Jefferson, when, one of the men pointed a gun at him.

The victim says all four men then started hitting him, and then ran off after taking his belongings.   

The investigation is ongoing.  If you have any information, call Evansville Police.
