Eyewitness News confirms the husband of a former Henderson County High School dance team instructor is in jail tonight charged with her murder. The Gleaner reports 36-year-old Steven Cotter is charged with murder in the connection with the shooting death of his wife, 39-year-old Michelle Cotter. In May 2012, police received a call from the Cotter's home on Cardinal Lane and arrived to find Michelle Cotter with a gun shot wound. Steven Cotter was also in the home with a firearm and was taken into custody. If convicted, he could face 20 to 50 years or life in prison.
