Formal charges are filed against the Evansville couple whose 3-year-old son died earlier this week after an apparent beating. Amanda Brooks is facing neglect and battery charges. Her husband Terry Lay is facing neglect charges. None of the charges filed today is connected with the death. They are connected to injuries police say they found on another child at the family Eastbrook mobile home. Officials say more serious charges could come after prosecutors have had time to review the coroners report, which says 3-year-old Kaleb died from multiple blunt trauma due to a beating. Both Brooks and Lay remain in jail under a 100-thousand dollar cash bond.
