Construction on Owensboro's new Convention Center is moving along. This morning, crews lay the final steel beam on the center. Mayor Ron Payne says in this first phase of construction, about 1,000 man hours have been put in to this construction, and he's happy to report no injuries.
But there's still work left to do. Two more construction phases have to be completed before the Convention Center's grand opening in 2014.
