The Posey County man who police say slashed the face of a sheriff's deputy two years ago learns his sentence today. 26-year-old Brandon McManomy was sentenced to 38 years in prison on an attempted murder charge. He was convicted on four counts, but a judge said the sentence for those charges will run concurrent to the attempted murder charge. He'll serve the first 15 in Calloway County and then will be transferred back to serve the remainder of his sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections.

In February of 2011, McManomy resisted officers trying to serve a warrant at his parents home in Posey County. Prosecutors say he slashed the face of a sheriff's deputy. Proseuctor Jonathan Parkhurst tells Eyewitness News McManomy and his father both testified in court today before he was sentenced.
