A Newburgh man posts bond for attempting to break into a home in northeastern Vanderburgh County. Sheriff's deputies say the homeowner reported 21-year-old Trent Thompson was trying to break in through a glass patio door. Deputies say the homeowner shot at Thompson before Thompson ran off. But when deputies arrived, Thompson tried to re-enter the home through the garage door. Investigators discovered Thompson had been drinking. He said he believed he was at a friend's house when he was arrested.
