If you have plans to visit someone in the hospital, you'd better be sure you're in good health.  That's because as the flu continues to spread like, well, the flu, Evansville hospitals are restricting who can visit patients.

The limitations were laid out in a joint statement by both hospitals, and include:

  • Those with influenza-like symptoms. These include cough, sore throat, fever, chills, aches, runny or stuffy nose, and vomiting or diarrhea.
  • Visitors under the age of 15.
  • No visitors other than immediate family, partner, or significant other (immediate family is defined as parents or legal guardians, step-parents, siblings and children age 15 or over, husband or wife).
According to the hospitals, exceptions may be made in cases of critically ill patients and in end-of-life situations.
