One of America's most
beloved and famous Winter Olympians of all-time, eight-time Olympic medalist
speedskater and "Dancing with the Stars'" winner Apolo Anton Ohno~is revealing for the first time his story
of living with EIB (exercise-induced bronchospasm) which is a common respiratory condition afflicting more
than 30 million people with many of them not even knowing that they have it.
Often the
result of rapid breathing in cold, dry air during exercise, which may cause the
airways in the lungs to become irritated and temporarily become smaller or
constricted.Apolo was diagnosed with EIB in 2000 as he was preparing for
the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Apolo did not let EIB limit his goals or
dreams and worked with his doctor to get the right diagnosis and treatment
plan.
