Officials Approve Lease to Reopen Kentucky Kingdom

The Kentucky State Fair Board approves a lease for a new Kentucky Kingdom ownership group led by former owner Ed Hart. The investment group still needs $25 million in private loans. If they get the money, they'll open in spring of 2014, nearly five years after the park shut down. The new company will have to pay nearly $500,000 in rent to the fair board plus five percent of revenue over $25 million. The park sits on state owned land near Louisville International Airport.
